7. Techniques of integration
8. Infinite sequences and series
 

課程目標
This section of Calculus is exclusively designed for first-year students in medical school. We will quickly go over some basic concepts and notations. To get into the core of Calculus, we will define the notation of limit rigorously. Having understood the concept of limit, we can define derivatives and integral of a function. Some interesting and useful applications of derivatives and integrals will be given. We hope to introduce basic knowledge of infinite sequences and series by the end of the first semester. A student who finishes the first semester should have solid knowledge of handling various problems for functions of single variable.
